It's a Browser That Only Goes One Place
Put a normal tablet on a shop floor and it stops being a work tool — a tab here, a game there, and the next person needing a drawing finds it on a video app with a dead battery. This replaces the browser, not FabCommand: same account, same data, on a screen that can't wander off.

Open the setup page in the tablet's own browser and follow it. You need the tablet and Wi-Fi, nothing else.

Skip all of the above — we'll send the tablet with everything already done. It's also the only way to get the fully locked version, since device-owner mode has to be applied before a tablet is ever signed in to.

What It Doesn't Do
- It isn't a login system. No PINs for crew, no time clock, no extra seats.
- Fire tablets only. iPads don't need it — Guided Access is already built in.
- No PIN recovery. Forget it and the app has to be reinstalled.
- No remote management or auto-update. Changes happen on the tablet.
Kiosk Questions
No — it's a free app for FabCommand customers and adds no seat or subscription. You supply the tablet, or buy one from us pre-loaded.
A Fire HD 10 on Wi-Fi — that's the one we build and test against, and it's inexpensive enough to bolt to a wall rather than justify as equipment. Older and smaller Fire tablets work too, or we can supply one ready to go.
Tap the top-left corner seven times quickly, then enter the admin PIN. From there you can change the site, edit the allowlist, change the PIN, or exit kiosk mode for maintenance. The gesture is invisible on purpose — there's no button for a curious user to find.
The page doesn't move and a banner names the blocked site. If it's somewhere you genuinely need — a supplier portal, a mill cert host — send us the address and we'll add it.
iPads don't need our app — Apple builds the same thing in, for free. It's called Guided Access. Open Settings › Accessibility › Guided Access, turn it on, then set:
- Passcode Settings — set a Guided Access passcode, and choose whether Face ID or Touch ID can also pause or end a session.
- Time Limits — whether a sound plays and the remaining time is spoken before a time-limited session ends.
- Accessibility Shortcut — whether triple-clicking the top button shows the Accessibility Shortcuts panel during a session.
- Display Auto-Lock — how quickly the iPad locks when it's not in use during a session.
To run it: open FabCommand in Safari, add it to the Home Screen so there's no address bar, then triple-click the top button to start the session. Ask us if you'd like a hand.
